Course Objectives (2 Credits)
This presentation shows the necessary clinical steps for achieving desired results when placing veneers without any tooth reduction; the patient received 10 no-prep veneers. Participants that complete the presentation will acquire useful information in many areas, including the following:
- Types of cases for which a no-prep approach is possible.
- Veneer try-in.
- Preparing the tooth and veneer for bonding.
- Etching tips.
- Veneer placement and seating tips.
- Cementation tips.
- Clean-up tips and adjustment tips.
- Finishing, polishing materials and techniques.
- Discussion about open and closed gingival embrasures.
Summary
The case that is studied illustrates a situation where a no-prep approach is put to good use. The patient had multiple diastemata between the teeth and additional tooth-length was desired. Additionally, the patient did not have any of the facial-limiting factors that are discussed. An analysis of the case points out various details that are to be considered before the placement of the 10 no-prep veneers. A veneer "try-in" predicts a desirable esthetic outcome, achievement of objectives is demonstrated and an excellent clinical result is realized in a short time.
In just 15 minutes, technique tips are discussed and thoroughly demonstrated using close-up, over-the-shoulder videography of the various steps during the no-prep veneer placement procedure. Many practice tips are provided to help participants efficiently prepare, etch, place, clean-up, adjust and finish a no-prep case; and, concise information about burs, discs, cups, pastes and other supplies is provided.
