Utilizing Digital Treatment Planning and Guided Surgery to Restore Fully Edentulous Arches with the All-on-4 Technique
Take a Test | View PDF | Online Magazine

Course Objectives (2 Credits)

New technologies and procedures are now available that allow the clinician to pre-plan implant cases, making them truly restorative-driven. CT scans and planning software can be utilized to plan the case and provide for the fabrication of a Surgical Template to transfer the virtual plan to the clinical setting. Provisional restorations can be fabricated pre-surgically and delivered immediately after implant placement. Participants who read and study the photo essay will acquire useful information in many areas, including the following:

  • The importance of the Radiographic Guide in setting the ideal position of the tooth to be replaced
  • The use of 3D imaging and treatment planning software to pre-plan implant cases
  • The rationale for angled implants
  • The clinical steps for guided implant surgery
  • Proper staging of dual-arch restorations
  • Immediate delivery of full-arch screw-retained prostheses

Summary

Learn about newly available technologies and procedures that allow the clinician to pre-plan a truly restorative-driven implant case utilizing Digital Treatment Planning and Guided Surgery. The All-on-4 Technique presented will inform the clinician on the importance of treatment planning for ideal implant placement, as well as the clinical steps for guided implant surgery and immediate delivery of screw-retained prostheses.
