TECHNICAL NOTES
TCABS can be fabricated on your prepared crown & bridge impressions/models for best results. However, we can also fabricate TCABS on pre-operative study models, which need to be relined in the patient's mouth.
TCABS are made of a monomer-free resin and are hypoallergenic.
If adjustment is required use a low-speed carbide composite finishing-bur and composite polishing discs. Paste for final polish. Polish TCABS in the same way you would polish composites.
RECOMMENDED RELINE MATERIAL
Ethyl Methacrylates
Snap by Parkell (800)243-7446
Splintline by Lang (800)222-5264
Trim by Bosworth (800)323-4352
RELINE TECHNIQUE
After try-in, rinse the restorations with water and dry completely.
Lubricate the abutment tooth to keep the reline from adhering.
Using ETHYL METHACRYLATE (recommendations listed above), mix, reline and seat per manufacturer's instructions.
After complete cure, trim away flash with plastic grinding disk and polish.

To add material to unit itself
1. Roughen area with a coarse diamond, cuttle disc, or by carefully sandblasting with MICRO-BLASTER using 50-micron clean aluminum oxide.
2. Add bonding agent to surface (SE BOND) per manufacturer's instructions.
3. Using a flowable composite, start with a thin layer over roughened area and light cure. If more material is needed, use a standard composite to build up area, light cure and polish.
INDICATIONS / CONTRAINDICATIONS
These crowns and bridges were developed to provide a cost effective alternative to permanent restorations, yet provide long term durability not found in other temporary restorations. Patients who would be candidates for this type of restoration are as follows: the elderly, seriously ill, those of limited finances, severe periodontics, perio therapy, pediatrics, parafunctional and TMJ disorders. TCABS will also work as temporaries for bruxers/clenchers who may not be suited for BioTemps.
PREPARATION
90 degree shoulder preparation of at least 1 mm, with at least 1.5 mm of reduction on the buccal, lingual, occlusal and labial.
Bridge abutment teeth should be tapered axially 3-6 degrees. Bridges can have pontic spans of up to four teeth or 33 mm from abutment to abutment.
CEMENTATION
Long-Term Cementation (12 months or more):
SE Bond and Panavia 21 (J. Morita) for best results or any Dual Cure Resin Cement.

Mid-Term Cementation (Up to 12 months):
ProtecCem (Ivoclar) or Versa Temp (Hydrocast)

Short-Term Cementation (Up to 3 months):
Zoe or any temporary cement
If bonding in the future use NONEUGENOL TEMPORARY CEMENTS such as Nogenal, Zone or TempBond.
