TECHNICAL NOTES
All castings are made with a metal alloy, be it non-precious, semi-precious or precious metals. Alloys are classified by their content.

Base - contents include non-precious, Chrome Cobalt or Titanium
Noble - consists of 25 percent precious alloy
High Noble - consists of 60 percent precious metal with at least 40 percent being gold
Alloy type refers to the hardness and/or softness of the material.

Type I - Extra soft
Type II - Soft
Type III - Hard
Type IV - Extra Hard (Rigid)
Non-Precious, Noble, White High Noble - Type IV - Very hard and rigid. These crowns are more difficult to adjust and re-polish than alloys with a high gold content.
Noble Cast 45 - Type III - Yellow high noble alloy. Brand name currently used is Argenco 40.
Noble Cast 60 - Type III - Yellow high noble alloy. Brand name currently used is Aurident WX.
Noble Cast 67 - Type III - Yellow high noble and is an upgrade from NC60. The gold is slightly more yellow in color than NC60. Brand name currently used Aurident BH.
OcclusalGold - Type IV- Alloy is the next upgrade from NC67. It is a deeper yellow color than NC67. Brand name currently used is Degunorm. This alloy can be used for porcelain fused to metal restorations as well.
JRVT - Type II - High noble gold is easier to polish, burnish or adjust if necessary. This is primarily an inlay gold but can be used for onlays, full crowns and some bridges (not long spans). Brand name currently used is Jensen.
INDICATIONS / CONTRAINDICATIONS
Full-cast restorations are indicated for single crowns as well as bridges anywhere in the mouth. Inlays and onlays can also be fabricated as a full-cast restoration.
PREPARATION
Feather-edge margin preparations are indicated for full-cast restorations. However, any margin preparation may be used.
CEMENTATION
Panavia 21 (Must be tinplated if precious metal is used)
Glass ionomer cement (GC Fuji, GC America)
Zinc Phosphate
Polycarboxylate
Resin Ionomer cement (RelyX, 3M ESPE)
WORKING TIME
3 Days In-lab
Rush Cases : All rush cases must be prescheduled by calling 800-944-7874 before the case is shipped. Time of pickup and delivery may affect turnaround time.
