TAP®
The TAP® device provides a powerful prescription for snoring and sleep apnea. Based on the same principle as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), the TAP was designed to keep the airway of the throat open to allow for air to pass. A constricted or collapsed airway causes snoring or sleep apnea.
Both the TAP I® and TAP III TL® holds the lower jaw in a forward position, maintaining a clear airway to reduce snoring and improve breathing. When the jaw opens and the tongue falls into the back of the throat, the airway narrows forcing air through the small opening. This creates a vibration known as snoring. Although snoring seems physically harmless, it can be a “red flag” for a serious condition called obstructive sleep apnea. |
