Introduction
Anterior Wax Shell Technique
Figure #1 When determining size, keep in mind that the teeth must maintain a normal mesial-distal width. Choose from small, medium or large.
-
Figure #2
Place a very small dot of Soft Newport Wax on the labial surfaces of the teeth and press the shells onto them gently.
-
Figure #3
The anterior wax shell selection must blend esthetically with the natural curvature of the patient's arch in respect to size, shape and length of the teeth.
-
Figure #4
Centrals help establish the midline. Adjust the wax pattern to establish the correct long axis of inclination and incisal harmony with curvature of arch.
-
Figure #5
Once the central incisors have been correctly positioned, place the lateral incisors and adjust accordingly. Then place the cuspids.
-
Figure #6
Continue to wax the lingual and labial gingival to seal the wax shells. Use red articulating tape to check for interferences. Remove any red markings.
-
Figure #7
After wax-up, use a wax carver to contour the emergence profile and trim the excess wax to the proximal contacts if necessary.

Finally, reseat the wax-up back onto the model to ensure that the wax pattern is as you desired. Wax-up is complete and ready for spruing.
