Introduction
Prismatik CZ Press Technique
Figure #1 If the zirconia substructure is unshaded, Glidewell CZ Press stains can be used by brushing or spraying.
-
Figure #2
Mix appropriate shade with Stain and Glaze liquid. Mixture should be smooth and creamy before brushing a thin coat of Press Stain onto the substructure.
-
Figure #3
Mix CZ Press Stain with ADDS Spray 'n Bake Spray Opaque Liquid and spray it on the copings using a Badger Air-Brush.
-
Figure #4
Hand wax or use silicone molds to do final contour. Molds help to quickly create perfect functional and anatomically correct occlusal tables.
-
Figure #5
Use prefabricated anterior wax shells that provide a guide for easier contouring or hand wax to achieve a full wax-up.
-
Figure #6
Apply Soft Newport Wax to the end of a 10-gauge sprue. If the wax-up is unusually large, use an 8-gauge wax sprue to ensure complete pressing.
-
Figure #7
While the wax-up is still on the die, place a small amount of wax on the end of the sprue and attach it 2 mm to 3 mm from the incisal edge at a 45-degree angle to the lingual.
-
Figure #8
Crowns should be at least one quarter inch from inside of ring with margins facing upward. To ensure complete pressing, the units should not be touching.
-
Figure #9
Place the investment ring into a burnout oven and set the time and temperatures according to the investment manufacturer's instructions.
-
Figure #10
Carefully remove the remainder of the investment around the pressed restorations by sandblasting with 50-micron glass beads at 40 psi.
-
Figure #11
Detach the sprue from the restoration with a diamond disk. Using water, keep the restoration wet during sprue removal and grinding. Reduce the sprue end.
-
Figure #12
After establishing contact and occlusion, the final contour can be adjusted. Use fine diamond burs for final contouring.
-
Figure #13
Apply a thin layer of glaze mixture to the CZ Press restoration. Check shade with the appropriate shade tab. If staining is indicated, apply as needed.
-
Figure #14
Your CZ Press restoration is now ready to be delivered to the doctor for cementation.
-
Figure #15
CZ Press Add-On Powders can be used to repair areas such as open contacts, small chips, or areas that are under-contoured or in need of more translucency.
-
Figure #16
Use CZ Press Add-On Body Powders when the repair is within the gingival two-thirds. Use Add-On Incisal Powders within the incisal one-third.
