What is the CTE for Prismatik CZ Press?
The CTE for Prismatik CZ Press is 9.7.
What is the flexural strength for Prismatik CZ Press?
The flexural strength is 130 MPa.
Can Prismatik CZ Press ingots be pressed onto any zirconia substructure?
Yes, Prismatik CZ Press is designed to be compatible with all YTZP zirconia substructures. We use it over Prismatik CZ™ copings, 3M™ ESPE™ Lava™ copings, NobelProcera® Zirconia copings, and Cercon® copings.
Can Prismatik CZ Press ingots be pressed for full coverage all-ceramic crowns, veneers, inlays and onlays?
Yes, the ingots can be pressed onto all-ceramic restorations if you just stain and glaze. (Do not use any overlay porcelain if there is no zirconia substructure in the all-ceramic restoration.)
What is the ingot size for Prismatik CZ Press?
2.5 gram ingots; each ingot is 15 mm in diameter.
What are Prismatik CZ Press Stain Powders used for?
Prismatik CZ Press Stain Powders are used only to stain the zirconia substructure, utilizing the brush or spray technique.
What is the difference between Prismatik CZ Press pre-blended ingots and Prismatik CZ Press Dentin ingots?
Pre-blended ingots have dentin and incisal pre-blended together for one complete pressing. Dentin ingots are made of only dentin porcelain; after pressing, the addition of Opal Incisal Layering powder is necessary.
What are the Add-On/Repair Powders used for?
They are used if any minor corrections are needed after pressing is complete.
If more translucency is desired, can Opal Incisal Layering Powders be used?
Yes, as long as the zirconia substructure is extended to the margin.
How many units can you press per ingot?
Up to 0.6 g of wax is used per ingot (waxed, including sprue).
What size plunger is used for 2.5 gram ingots?
The plunger is 16 mm in diameter. It is also disposable.
What investment material can be used to invest the waxed units?
You can use any all-ceramic investment. At Glidewell, we use Microstar® HS™ investment.
What is the water/powder ratio for investment material?
Always follow the investment manufacturer’s instruction for accurate investing.
What is the burnout temperature?
Follow the investment manufacturer’s instruction for burnout. (Using Microstar® HS™, we burnout at 1652°F for 45 minutes per ring, adding 10 minutes for each additional ring.)
What happens if the investment ring is in burnout oven for a longer time than instructed?
It may result in brittle investment and possibly cracking of the ring during pressing.
What happens if the investment ring is removed from the burnout oven before the instructed time?
It may result in cold casting or cold pressing, not allowing the molten ceramic to reach all the proper areas.
Do Prismatik CZ Press ingots or disposable plungers need to be placed in the burnout oven?
No, do not place the ingots or the plungers in the burnout oven.
Can Universal Stain and Glaze be used over Prismatik CZ Press ingots?
Yes.
