TECHNICAL NOTES
What is the CTE for Prismatik NetPress?
The CTE for Prismatik NetPress is 13.6-14.3.
Can Prismatik NetPress ingots be pressed on to any metal substructure?
The majority of dental alloys have a CTE range of 13.6-14.3, and Prismatik NetPress is designed to be compatible with these metals and Captek substructures.
What is the flexural strength for Prismatik NetPress?
The flexural strength is 110 MPa.
What is the ingot size for Prismatik NetPress?
2.5 gram ingots; each ingot is 14 mm in diameter.
How many units can you press per Prismatik NetPress ingot?
Weigh the metal copings first, then proceed to wax-up. Then, weigh the units waxed, including the sprue, and subtract the weight of the metal coping to determine the accurate weight of wax. Wax that weighs up to 0.6 gram needs only one ingot.

Less than or equal to 0.6g - 1 x 2.5g ingot
0.7g-1.5g - 2 x 2.5g ingot

Can Prismatik NetPress ingots be used for any other all-ceramic restorations?
No, because the colors and translucency are blended specially for opaque metal copings.
What size plunger is used for these 2.5 gram ingots?
The plunger is 16 mm in diameter. It is also disposable.
What investment material can be used to invest the waxed units?
We recommend you use Microstar® HS™ investment.
What is the water/powder ratio for investment material?
Always follow the investment manufacturer’s instruction for accurate investing.
What is the burnout temperature?
Follow the investment manufacturer’s instruction for burnout. (Using Microstar HS, we burnout at 1550°F for 45 minutes per ring, adding 10 minutes for each additional ring.)
What happens if the investment ring is in burnout oven for a longer time than instructed?
It may result in brittle investment and possibly cracking of the ring during pressing.
What happens if the investment ring is removed from the burnout oven before the instructed time?
It may result in cold casting or cold pressing, not allowing the molten ceramic to reach all the proper areas.

Do Prismatik NetPress ingots or disposable plungers need to be placed in the burnout oven?
No, do not place the ingots or the plungers in the burnout oven.
Can Universal Stain and Glaze be used over Prismatik NetPress ingots?
Yes.
