INDICATIONS / CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Diagnostic Wax-ups are indicated for crowns, bridges, or veneers. Patients that are uncertain about having restorative work done and need assurance as to what the final outcome will be like are good candidates for this diagnostic tool.
PREPARATION
Start with an accurate bite registration and void-free impression using a custom tray.
CEMENTATION
No cementation necessary.
TECHNICAL NOTES
Models are duplicated and prepared according to the doctor’s specifications or the amount of reduction recommended for the type of restoration prescribed. Using various shades of wax, a technician will create a single crown, bridges or veneers. A stent or putty matrix is made of the wax-up so that the doctor can use it to create temporaries in the office.
